Tridacna Gigas
Tridacna gigas, or the giant clam, is the, as the name implies, largest living mollusk of the Bivalvia class. They can weigh over 440 pounds and be measured more than 47 inches across. The largest one found was measured 4.49 feet. The heaviest one found weigh about 750 pounds. They are found off the Philippine shore, where they are called taklobo, and in the coral reeds of Sabah in the South China Sea. T. gigas live in flat coral sound and can be found as deep as 66 feet.
